FAITH MAKES HISTORY
Interdisciplinary Symposium on 1,700 Years of the Council of Nicaea at the KHKT
Seventeen hundred years ago, the Council of Nicaea (325 CE) was the first ecumenical council in church history — an event that continues to impact theology, the church, and culture today. To mark this anniversary, the Cologne University of Catholic Theology (KHKT) is hosting an interdisciplinary symposium on November 19, 2025, under the title "FAITH MAKES HISTORY."
Through an exchange of perspectives from biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, and ecumenical research, the symposium will highlight the great relevance of the council for the Christian faith and provide a diverse perspective on Christology.
